Terms of Service
These terms explain the rules for using UIHero, including accounts, coding tools, subscriptions, and AI features.
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using UIHero, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If the law where you live requires a higher age or permission from a parent or guardian, that requirement also applies. You may not use the service where the law prohibits it.
3. Accounts
Provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us promptly if you think someone has accessed your account without permission. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it results from our failure to use reasonable security measures.
If you use a third-party sign-in option, you must also follow that provider's terms and keep that account secure. Do not create extra accounts to avoid limits or enforcement actions.
4. Using the service
We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use UIHero for learning, practice, and evaluation. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service or its problem catalog unless we give written permission or the law allows it.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- break the law, violate another person's rights, or harass, threaten, or deceive anyone;
- access another account or bypass security, access controls, tests, or usage limits;
- introduce malware, mine cryptocurrency, steal data, or damage, overload, or disrupt any system;
- scrape, automate, or reverse engineer the service in a way that burdens it or avoids a documented interface or limit;
- extract, disclose, or deliberately evade hidden tests, expected results, anti-cheat controls, or grading systems; or
- submit secrets, regulated information, or code that you do not have permission to use.
Security research requires our written permission in advance. A coding sandbox is not permission to test or attack our systems or anyone else's.
6. Your code and content
You keep ownership of the code, drafts, reviews, comments, and other content you submit. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, send, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
This license ends when your content is deleted, except for temporary or backup copies, de-identified information, records we need to complete a request, and records we must keep for security or legal reasons.
If you submit a learner review, it is not public unless we approve it. An approved review may display the name, optional role, rating, and review text you provided. We may decline, remove, or unpublish a review, and you may ask us to remove yours.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that reviews reflect your honest experience. We do not claim ownership of the general skills, ideas, or techniques shown in your solutions.
7. Code and AI features
Code you run may use browser-based tools and may make network requests. When you choose Submit, the code needed to grade your answer may be sent to a separate grading service. Code can fail, consume resources, or behave unexpectedly, so review it before running it and never include passwords, API keys, personal information, or other secrets.
Tests, scores, interview transcripts, and AI-generated feedback are learning aids. They may be incomplete or wrong and do not guarantee that code is secure, accessible, production-ready, or correct in every environment. Interview feedback is not a hiring decision, professional credential, or promise of employment.
8. Third-party services
We rely on service providers for features such as sign-in, browser coding, grading, AI, analytics, payments, and email. Some features may open a provider's own page or require you to interact with that provider directly.
Third-party services have their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for services that we do not control, but we remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law.
9. Billing and service messages
Before you buy a paid plan, checkout will show the price, currency, billing cycle, renewal terms, taxes, and total charge. Paid plans renew until canceled unless checkout says otherwise. You provide payment-card details directly to Stripe, and we do not receive or store your full card number.
If you buy a subscription online, you can cancel it online through the billing portal available from your account. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal, and paid access continues through the current billing period unless checkout, your subscription status, or applicable law says otherwise. Cancellation does not reverse charges that have already been processed.
Features described as planned are not part of the current service. Features described as beta may change and may have usage limits or temporary interruptions.
We may send necessary account, subscription, cancellation, and payment-failure messages. If we introduce marketing email, we will use a separate consent and opt-out process where required.
10. Refund policy
Except where required by applicable law, all payments are final and non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods, unused time, plan changes, or failure to cancel before a renewal charge.
Nothing in this policy limits any refund, withdrawal, cancellation, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived. When applicable law requires a refund or another remedy, we will provide the remedy the law requires.
11. Availability and changes
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features for product, security, legal, or operational reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted service or that every draft will always be recoverable. Keep a separate copy of important work.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to prevent harm, investigate misuse, comply with law, or enforce these terms. When practical, we will provide notice and a chance to appeal.
Terms that should continue by their nature, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions, remain in effect after use ends.
13. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is and as available. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment. We do not promise that the service will be error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular interview, job, or production system.
Some places do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UIHero, its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from the service. Our total liability for all claims related to the service will not exceed the greater of what you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100.
These limits do not apply where the law prohibits them or to liability that cannot legally be limited, including fraud or willful misconduct.
15. General terms
The law where the service operator is established governs these terms, without taking away mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Before filing a formal claim, each party agrees to try in good faith to resolve the issue informally for 30 days.
These terms and any purchase-specific terms are the entire agreement about the service. If one provision cannot be enforced, the rest remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a reorganization, merger, or sale, subject to applicable law.
We may update these terms. We will post the revised version, change the effective date, and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights. Continued use after the new effective date means you accept the revised terms where the law permits.
16. Contact
Questions, notices, or disputes about these terms can be sent through our contact form or to support@uihero.dev. Include enough information for us to identify the account and issue, but do not send passwords, private keys, or sensitive code.
